We should have straighten this differences out before, decoupling and coupling as your stated there are two completely different issues.

It ok to use that 50uf pp cap it you want to, I do not you will find and energy in the MHz range. The lead inductance might cause a problem at high frequencies. I believe Frank has experience using starter caps in audio circuits.
On thing you will find as cap go the large the geometry of the cap the worse it HF performance is.
