Hi.
I have a Sansui AU-9500, and would like to connect both it's internal power amps and a kitset power amp I am building to it's preamp outputs...
Preamp output is 1.5k ohm, poweramp input (both amps) is 50k ohm.
It should be okay to just split the preamp output (y cable) as the preamp out impedance is much lower than the combined poweramp in impedance (25k ohm) yes??
I just got the old girl running properly again and don't really want to blow up the preamp 🙂
Cheers.
Steve.

Does the Sansui have a "connected/seperated" switch on the back? I'm assuming it has the "Preout" and "Amp In" rca's on the back (Every Sansui AUxxxx amp I have seen/owned had them)
I used to use my Sansui AU7900's preamp with my tube power amplifier for my main speakers, and the Sansui's power amp for my subs, with a LPF I built up with an opamp.. Worked great, just be sure to set the connected/seperated switch to the appropriate place..The switch connects the preamp to the amp internally,so you don't need the cables from the "preamp out" to "amp in" connectors...Just cables from the "preamp out" to the input on your other kit amp.
Good luck!

Thanks people 🙂
No switch, just jumpers between the RCAs.
Very impressed with the Sansui - great sound from something that is older than I am 🙂
You don't often see an owners manual with full schematics and pcb overlays nowadays either.
Don't want to move it around much though... at 23kg.
Thanks for the advice.
