HI! Thanks for looking at my thread 😀😱🙂
My brother is going to give me his old speakers, they are KRK Rokit 6 Gen 3's and I was wondering if it was possible to connect them to my current set up!
~any help would be greatly appreciated! ~
I have a Yamaha R-S201BL 2-Channel Stereo Receiver and a U-turn Orbit Plus which I was hoping to connect the speakers to my computer and TV also...
Is it possible to connect all of those? He told me something about it potentially damaging the speakers if I connect too many things to it?
Also, if there is a way to connect all of these, will it lower the quality of the sound? Especially concerned for the turn table!
THANKS!

Yamaha R-S201BL has no phono input to connect the turntable, so you need a phono preamplifier between the receiver and the turntable. Try U-Turn Audio Pluto Phono Preamp. Pluto's output jacks goes to CD input of the receiver.
Connect your computer and TV audio out to line inputs 1 and 2 of the receiver.
KRK Rokit 6 must be connected to REC (recording) jacks at the receiver.
No loss of sound quality at all.

You won't be able to control the volume with the receiver's control this way, though.
Thanks guys, really good info!
Let me ask tho, is there anyway that these speakers could be controlled through the receiver? Or is this not possible with these type speakers?
I know these speakers are not really for home theater type set-up (which is basically what I will be doing with them) 😀😛
Do you think I'd be better off selling the speakers and getting different ones?
I like the idea of a 2 speaker set-up, especially with the turn table. From what my brother told me, these were used for creating music, so they are good at making you feel close to the music and you can pick up on little details. Would you guys agree with this?
Thanks again!!!

Yes, but KRK Rokit 6 has its own Volume control. It would be awkward to use and the volume range is limited, but it will work. You won't be able to control the volume with the receiver's control this way, though.
The best solution is to insert stereo volume potentiometer ("passive preamplifier") between Yamaha REC output and KRK input.
