Silicon Bronze Machine Screw for binding connector

I have left over Silicon Bronze Machine Screws that I am thinking would make good binding posts for some speakers I am building. I like spade connectors that I solder to the speaker wire and cinch these on with the nuts found on most binding posts. I suppose I could purchase the red/black banana binding posts or those plastic cup things but if I am not mistaken they too are brass or plated nickle.

These Silicon Bronze screws are used in boat building and are pretty rust resistant. Are there any electrical properties that make them poor binding posts that anyone is aware of?

It is right kind of you to provide this reference for my intuition and in support of my cheapness. I just don't see paying for store bought connectors when I have perfectly good alternatives in baggies in boxes in the basement workshop.

If you want a good laugh go to the Cardas site. It is perfectly mystical. But then there is a long tradition of trading earthly, hard won items for other worldly aspirational items.
