Hi,
Here is part of Kenwood C2 preamp schematic. This particular flat amp seems to limit/clip input signals with levels exceeding 500mV. This number is an estimate since at the moment I do not have an access to test equipment. It appears not to limit signals with "consumer" levels of -10db. However anything above -4db is clipped. Clipping is symmetrical as far as I can see in the wave editor.
The components are:
Q5, Q6 - uPA68H
Q7-Q10 - 2SC1845F
IC2 - NJM2041.
Supply voltage is +/- 18VDC. All DC voltages are as referenced in schematic. Seems to me it is something relating to BJTs in cascode. Just can not grasp it.
Any idea, please?
Thanks
