Hey
I am working to shrink a tube amp, and for this work, I lack a few rules of thumb from a few experienced builders.
The hv psu built by CLC with the final C placed on the amplifier chassis.
The actual power xmr, rectifier, the first cap and choke is built into a separate cabinet standing on the floor.
I am missing the following: 😕
1: Minimum distance between ECC8x tubes. Problem = Heat
2: Minimum distance between 6SN7 octal tubes and similar tubes. Problem = Heat
3: The minimum distance between 6L6, 807 and similar power tubes. Problem = Heat
4: Distance between tube and OPT. Problem = magnetic field
5: Distance between the two OPTs. Problem = magnetic field
And Yes i know to take care not to heat op the caps. 😀

The rule-of-thumb that I've heard and followed for tube spacing, is to space them apart by at least the diameter of the tube's envelope.
