Just use a stell rule and make scratches horizontal and them vertical... so, there's a squared board.

No, is not ugly, can be cleaned!
Using thinner you made it clean and new, can dismount and mount again several times, easy to divide in parts, if the boards have color, the color will appear between squares... can glue into chassis (ground plane to avoid oscilations....do not use in UHF)
