Hi folks, check out my latest creation.
Goals:
I did a similar sealed build documented here, which went low after EQ but didn't get loud, so I thought I'd fix that by making it ported.
Result:

Impedance sweep:
Ports are 4" drain/sewage pipes from home depot (link)
They're 1m long each, they down into the box till they're behind the woofer.
Thoughts:
While it was fun to build, shakes the whole house, it doesn't sound as good as the sealed sub. I know a couple of issues with it already. I'll let you guys guess based on the pics and impedance sweep down in the replies 🙂

Goals:
- use the JVC speaker enclosure
- use a walmart 12" subwoofer ($30)
- make it go low and loud

Good to see someone thinking outside the box.
Maybe you could add some bends to allow you to to tuck the ports around the back or sides?

Thanks. Hmm yeah I will try, but the pipes are surprisingly rigid. I may end up rethinking the ports altogether. I wonder if making the port exit location closer to the woofer will make it sound better.
