Should I ditch the resistor?

I have an Eltax Symphony 6 crossover. It is designed for an 8 ohm woofer but I'm using 6. The tweeter has a 5w 1 ohm resistor. Should I remove the resistor to re-balance the frequency response?

Not my pic.

I assumed the 6 ohm woofer would be more sensitive than the 8 ohm.
Sometimes, but not necessarily.

the change in impedance of the woofer will affect the crossover frequency
Second order tends to be more stable on the frequency. Here's an example with and without the resistor and it's a little more predictable than changing the impedance on 1st order.
