Hey peeps, I have a Kenwood KDC-MP225 reciever that I hooked up and it worked well enough, but my Corollas speakers sucked. So I got some Pioneer TS-A1680R 4-way speakers on Ebay for half the price at BestBuy. Hooked them up in the rear and they sounded pretty good.
Seems that after about a month I started getting a short, as the speakers would crackle not only in the back right but in the front right speaker. Then the reciever would stop playing. It would play again after a few minutes. Well, eventually it stopped and I popped it out. The 10A fuse was burnt. Replaced the fuse, hooked it up and it got wicked hot right away and I could smell electrical burning. So I unplugged it, removed the rear speakers I installed and reinstalled the reciever. It starts again fine and I can go through all the settings but I'm not getting any sound in my front speakers (rear I unplugged and think I know which wire was grounding/shorting).
Any advice would be great. I'm very experience with computers but a total n00b at car audio...
Have a volt meter and all my connections were soldered and wrapped nice to not be an issue down the road.
