I am planning on building a sub using a shivas sub driver in the 88.5 ltr sealed box .
my plate amp has a bass boost circuit of 6db @ 35 hz . is this going to cause me any problems .
Is there a way to disable it or lower it . the plate amp is from jaycar

the same as these . but different amount of output

with winisd PRO + update you can see the resultant response with EQ
Depending on what the response is,and what you like,it may or may not give you what you want.
Yes there is a way to disable it.
search in yahoo for 'critical q subwoofer'

I am not sure but if you are using a shiva (I am using a tempest, already have it, just finished the box) you can use lspcad which is a bit more comprehensive. After re-creating your alignment in lsp cad go to the "box/filter/eq" menu and go to equaliser, you will get the predicted effects of the equaliser.
I am guessing you know what the frequency and boost amount is (35hz and 6db), You could say that the Q is the "width" of the boost with the lower the number the wider the area that it affects. For the jaycar amp i would stick it at around 1 for an estimate.

Its sallenkey EQ as far as i know, the Q isnt adjustable.
Only the Frequency and magnitude.
LSP cad isnt free?
WIth signal generator and oscilloscope you could measure it and plot 🙂
also how do i allow for the 6db boost in winisd pro ??
If you downloaded the PATCH also,on the driver box, theres an EQ tab.

Note that -12db at 10hz is slightly helpful for preventing ported overexcursion(but maynot be enough at extreme power levels)
