Most input jacks I've seen on amps & speakers are unshielded, probably to avoid ground loops.

If it's line level and relatively low impedance -- say 10k or below -- not likely the shielding will provide any benefit.
Also, the portion of the connector that is shielded is a pretty small region. My guess - likely it was a suggestion from the Sales Department that 'we could sell these better if we offered a shielded version.'
