what to do ..

Is anyone using this panel with an non Sharp AC adaptor.

I'd appreciate any info ..

For those interested the unit is powered by a

Sharp ADP-0042

which appears to be non extistent anywhere..

Other details from the panel itself say:

Model: QA-1200
Computer: PROJECTION Panel
RATING: DV12V - 1.95A

Use AC adaptor ADP-0042 ( DADP-0042PAZZ )

I've looked everywhere for an AC adaptor with that rating
and the closest I came was a Radio Shack 1500mA 12V.

Does 1.95A = 1950mA ?
Will the 1500mA work successfully or fry the panel ?
Will I ever become more than just a newbie who asks
stupid newbie questions ?

thanks in advance...

you will need 1.95A or higher to run the panel. Try searching online for such an adapter. The one thing to think about is how the power plugs into the panel too. If it is not a standard plug, you might have to make your own or see if you can just find this adapter somewhere with a lot of searching.

So, basically any 12v 1.95A (or higher) will do the trick, provided the plug will fit. (and yes, 1.95A = 1950mA)

PROBLEM 2

My panel now powers up , but guess what !! , i have no
remote , cables etc.. so I get a nice "NO SIGNAL" in the bottom
right hand corner ..

I wasn't worried about the cables as I have/had no intention
of hookin up my PC to it , just RCA video ..
Searching thru the posts seems it's possible to make a
VGA to 26pin cable so stil not really that worried there ..

I know this question has been asked before , but ..

is there a way to switch the panel to accept RCA video as its
signal without the remote ?

phew ..

Thanks for that .. but I'd already considered it , funnily enough after reading the same warning you gave in another thread ..
Sounds like the voice of experience speaking .. 🙂

Just for other QA-1200 owners , the center is positive ..
Take a good look at where the jack plugs in .. you'll see
a raised symbol which denotes the polarity ..
Check with this website:

http://www.accesscomms.com.au/polarity.htm

and match your symbol to the one on there ..
