I have a 250VA torroid to mount, and it came with an M6 nut & bolt.
Apart from looking ugly it I dont really have enough clearance at either the top or the bottom. I'm searching & searching and cant find anything suitable.
e.g. Sex bolts & Mating screws - Bolt Depot
these are all too small for me. does anyone know a site that has bigger sizes? (M6 x35mm would be about right) thx in advance 🙂

The female sex bolt should accept any male bolt, so just look for matching heads in the length you want.

You MUST avoid the shorted turn.
If a metal bolt touches the yop and bottom of the case, assuming it is a metal case, you will destroy the transformer.
If the transformer is that tightly fitted into a case then you must use somrthing that does not complete the "turn" inside the transformer. ie a Nylon bolt.
M6 nylon stud is pretty commonly available.

thanks for that. I might try a m6 nylon spacer with two bolts 😱You MUST avoid the shorted turn.
