i used to have a watercooled computer that ran those things like crazy. i also had an office of computers cranking them out. but i quit when i realized it was just using massive amount of power, and accomplishing nothing. 😉

Caution
I had this on my laptop (compaq M700) at one time.
It caused the thing to come out of "sleep" in it's bag, and by the time I'd got to it, the battery was too hot to touch.
The battery failed immediately afterwards. $£$£$£$£🙁

Time on my newest Mac is about 4 hours per unit (i bought the slowest cheapest one). The averaged time is spread across many machines over a long time frame at many different speeds... it isn't about speed, it is about finding signals from other intelligent species.
I am on Team Mac Observer.

I have never experienced data loss while using Norton -- how did you do it?
The only spare burner i have kicking around is an old 2x SCSI that needs a caddy (and i'm not sure if i have one).
