Hey all,
I have a bug up my butt to try the balanced connection into my ASP1000 from my Single Ended Aikido Preamp.
I have a pair of Sescom MI-14 Transformers and have hooked up the amp as shown in the attachment below. All sounds OK, but bass is quite lacking compared to SE input into the ASP1000 (I have a switch from SE to XLR, so I can hear difference real time). As of now I prefer the SE connection, but want to see if there is a better design...Its a 150R or 600R primary and 150R or 600R dual secondary. I have it hooked up with 600R / 600R.
Anyway, is there a better way of wiring up the Sescom Transformer? I got the 5K/5K from a Jensen SE to XLR schematic.
Appreciate the help.

I don't think the Aikido can drive the 600 ohm load of the transformer. Try a transformer with a 15K primary and a 600 ohm secondary and I'll bet you won't loose the low end.
