Hello, I am a new member and would like to ask a question of the forum members. I did a quick search but did not find much relevant info, so here goes. I have two pair of "Sen-Lab" drivers: a pair of D2806 2A tweeters (that look a lot like Dynaudio D28/2 tweets) and a pair of D5406 2A soft dome mids (that look similar to the Dynaudio D54 mids). I picked these up from an eBay seller a few years ago, and the claim was that these were the precusors to the Dynaudio drivers of the same names. Can anyone here verify that claim, and if not, does anyone here know of a data source for the design parameters for thses drivers? The drivers are in pristine condition and I am anxious to use them in an enclosure, but I obviously need some good data to design the enclosure and/or crossovers. I know that testing is the best way to know the parameters for sure, but I don't have any equipment to do the tests. Thanks in advance for any help. 🙂
hi
could you give details of the woofer , as in my understanding , with the tweeters and a dome mid you need not worry about enclosure loading
soft dome mids as far as i remeber was introduced by urea , and also constructed by jbl in the 70 s in their studio monitor series
there is a lot of information on their performance , exceptional sound quality from ATC i think they are yet in production by ATC in their monitor series
they are difficult and time consuming to manufacture therefore i can say that what you have
may be are not dyna-audio s
but must be good
if you have the matching woofer and would like to save on the trouble of measuring them , best would be to construct a enclosure , with the measurements of the monitor (enclosure) used by a company using those drivers or similar drivers

Suranjan,
Thanks for the reply. A bit more info on the Sen-Labs: they are marked as "Made in Denmark" and one of the mids has a 1991 date scratched in the housing. They also are dead ringers, appearance-wise, for the D54 midrange and D28 tweeters made by Dynaudio. I will probably have to rig up some sort of test to find out exactly what parameters they have, but I may simply equate them to their Dynaudio twins and use those specs to design the crossovers. Maybe this is the excuse I need to invest in some good test equipment! Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Sen-Labs and Dynaudio are one and the same. I wonder about the 1991 date. AFAIK, they changed the name back in the '70s.
