Maybe so, but you are wasting your time trying to convince US.Ehm the exact point was that I am able and cable to build such an amp
Save that effort for the EBay customer who will have to part away from his hard earned cash to buy a known brand amp (Laney) with unknown mods made by .... WHO?
Would you care to repeat your name, please?
Not exactly Alex Aguilar, José Arredondo, Harry Kolbe or Gerald Weber, huh?
so not only repairing but reengineering.but that this amp just has some major flaws out of the factory?
Try to make that a positive feature with the average EBay customer.
How would we know? You uploaded NOTHING 😕Obviously this is not my amplifier.
Mine looks like brand new basically.
You claim so, will a customer think the same?double the normal market price 😱 being on par with the top better.
Two quotes from post #4:
“Making a unique custom build is not that difficult. (that’s basically my daily job).”
“And I am just not so experienced in the market of custom handmade (2nd hand) products.”
So you have a steady, daily job at some custom shop for (guitar) amplifiers, but no knowledge of the worth of what you and your boss (!) are doing? And the links in your signature are links to the place where you work?
One quote from post #12:
“And why is there so much hot snot… ?” (in this topic)
Yes, good question. Why?
Meanwhile we are at post #22 and still no pictures.

Developing custom electronics for professional companies is a very different thing than trying to compete in a 2nd hand market.
Why do people need to see pictures so bad?
There is nothing to see than just an amp with tubes, wires and boards in it?
That is also not the point of this topic.
"No reason for pictures" "What do you think I should do with this amplifier, it is a mess and I can rebuild it into something great?"
"We know nothing about the amp, the circuit, the physical construction, to comment."
"Here, here is the schematic and pictures of the amp."
"That is not my amp, it looks different, there is goop and screws."
No idea where that leaves us.

For the record, I never posted those pictures and schematics.
Which to be very honest, I also found a little annoying because the only reason that I started this topic, is to get a feel in how open the 2nd hand market is for custom or tailor made products.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Fair enough, and that one is *easy* to answer: approaching ZERO, unless you have already carved "a Name" which sounds to an average EBay buyer more attractive than the original Laney brand.the only reason that I started this topic, is to get a feel in how open the 2nd hand market is for custom or tailor made products.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Very easy to check yourself: post 2 ads at EBay.
Ad 1: "Laney Chrome O Zone amplifier, perfect condition"
Ad 2: "B_Force custom modified/rebuilt amplifier, own Mods applied"
Count answers.
Those asking how will you ship it and in general related to an actual sale count double.
For the record, I never posted those pictures and schematics.

And I tried to make it easier for others to weigh your chances one way or the other as it is not a very popular amp as compared to a Fender or Marshall. First time I heard of it.
The easy answer would have been, repair it and get a used price for it, put more time in into and possibly get a used price for it. Sell it for minimal cost if parts if sold as-is. But you probably realized all this and was hoping for someone to show the path to get the most for your gear. Doubt there is that path.
Find your buyer, ask them what they want (as is, repaired, customised) and agree a price, get a deposit, have fun. While there is a market for eg AC30 repro's, as others have said, no market for unknown custom builds unless you're building to order.
If I were going to spend time rebuilding or restoring an amp, I would be looking for something vintage or classic (working or not) and might end up costing some money in parts etc, but would fetch a better price in the used market. You still might not make a lot of money that way but at least you can get a feel for what a certain type of amp, properly restored would go for in the market. The one you have is working, so why not unload it now?
This sort of stuff is sold for close to nothing at e-bay, go figure. And if you do not have a reputation as customize expert, nobody will pay for your work but say: This is not original? Oh....😕
Not bad idea. Quad of EL84's, a Vox AC30, mind you a lot of holes available. A Trainwreck or related amp would make sense if you are going to gut the amp.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but i would probably ditch the cabinet and chassis, and get a replacement Vox style or Matchless cab and new chassis. Not bad idea. Quad of EL84's, a Vox AC30, mind you a lot of holes available
