Hey,
Estate sale today in my area, I found a Hana acoustic in mint condition.

This is RARE!! Even more Rare that its an Acoustic guitar.
The ONLY info I can locate is through the mother company,

http://www.hanaukulele.com/inst.html

The Only info I can find on their ukes is that typically they sell for $1200-$3500.00 ????

I figured I would ask you guys If anyone here has any info or heard of them. The thing is amazing to play, and craftsmenship is so good that it caught me Eye instantly.

I have never heard of Hana, but they could quite possibly be a small US maker that never made it over here. If it plays well, and sounds good, buy it. Yes, it's nice if it's worth some money, but it's much nicer if you get something you can enjoy playing.

Well,
It appears to be an authentic custom made guitar By the Hana Factory, I found out that it was purchased in Hawaii by the the owner on a vacation. The Guy was a Doctor (deseased)and my understanding is Its very high value, But I think that's all relative to the value to me.

The House sold for 1.7 million, So I suspect that he paid dearly for it. Has all the literature in the original hard case.

I think Its mine of $65.00. No other bids yet.
Tomorrow is the last day of the estate sale so I plan on being there at 8:00AM. No Bids, Its Mine

The company holding the estste sale has no idea what it is or its value, They could find no info at all on it, So they priced tagged it for $125.00

Arrrrrrg

I get to the sale, The guitar is gone, I asked if it was sold??

The lady running the sale told me a family member came just after I left and removed it. It had been there in error because they forgot it was stored away in a closet.

Later yesterday afternoon,

I got a letter back from Hana Ukulele and they informed me they had only built a couple dozen guitars in the past 10 years and NONE of the remaing ones were for sale. They could not give me much info on the one I had located except it costed the customer just over $5,000.00 special order purchase and took over a year to get.

I Am totally heart broken now!!

I have kicked myself 20 times over this one. The quality was clearly there, I could easily see that, I had cash in hand for the asking price of $125.00. Had I known anything at all about the brand, I would have jumped on it instantly.

Now, Oh Well lol
The Family can keep it, I can understand that part.

Gene,

It's just as well. If that guitar truely belonged to someone and was sold by accident, it would have had serious bad ju ju.

'sides... what good is a uke???

PERFECT PITCH: Perfect pitch is when you throw a banjo into the dumster and it lands right in the middle of an accordian.

Exactly,

This Guitar was custom built by a uke company know for their outstanding high end ukes that many famous musicians have bought. It by no means says that their guitars are good,

BUT

I can say when I picked up this guitar, Picked a few bars, It sounded better than any Classic Concert Acoustic I have ever Seen, Touched or heard. Was it worth the money the guy paid originally? My opinion, "Close"

I have not seen better craftsmenship in any off the rack axe yet.

But I agree, I am glad it went where it belonged, Well ok, 70% glad lol

I was garage sale-ing one time and bought some aluminum tubing in various lengths... threw them in my "odds" pile and forgot about it... some years later while hunting for a piece of tubing the right size, I noticed one of the tubes had endcaps... on both ends?

I unscrewed one and there was felt inside... turns out it was a Paul Young handmade bamboo fly rod in flawless condition.

Sold it for $2000... put new tires on the college mobile... and a few other things.

😀
