Seeking Crossover-advice for 3-way build

Hi wise and knowledgeable audio-people, (sorry if wrong thread!)

I am going on a vacation with my friends, and i have somehow been promoted to the builder-role of a portable speakersystem/ boombox.

My first feeble steps into this jungle of electronic mumbo-jumbo, caused me to return to the schoolbench reading about electrons and currents. Not a single minute was wasted on proper work that day.

I have read about dimensions, designed my own (iconic) boombox layout in SketchUp.

But now to the important part - its internals.

I have settled on the following;

For power: LiFePO4-12V-20Ah
Amplifier: Tripath-ta2020
Speakers (times two):

SPA-115PA
SP-8/150PA
MHD-220N/RD

The way i've read it i need a crossover-filter, when i want the full range of tones that my setup provides with a woofer, a midrange and a tweeter. And after looking at schematics and small circuit boards, i realised after to hours of reading, that i wasn't the slightest bit cleverer.

So i was wondering - could you recommend anything for me? 🙂

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Your ambition way exceeds your knowledge and any common sense.

I don't see what you think is portable about two 15" speakers.

Unless your in cars, and then its simply a case of connecting
external speakers to one of the cars internal sound system.

rgds, sreten.
