So you all say these are no good compared to real deal golden ones ? I mean sonically , will they deteriorate sound considerably? When i bought them i just wanted nice looking binding posts ,dindu even pay attention to gold 😉 As an experiment i sawed off the tip to see what they are made of and it seems it is some soft grey-white looking metal . I've made photographs,enjoy!
Not even minisculely 😉 The most important thing is that they make a good firm, preferably air tight, contact.
You may not notice any difference in sound, or you might. Most people don't do A/B tests to find out.

How a cheap gold plated binding post can possibly make a noticeable difference in sound when compared to expensive gold plated binding post would need some scientific data as a foundation to be even considered plausible.
Don´t you EVER bring Science or logic to a binding post discussion again!

ah, in audio everything is a compromise, discussion itself is a compromise as you stand on your own as I do.
Logic and science do tell what to do in audio, I'm sure everyone apply it and rhe results are outstanding, everywhere in rhe world, as a thousand of audio forums may attest.

Brass, when cut or filed can appear very pale, almost white. Hard to tell in photos, but stand the cut parts in wet salt and see how they tarnish. Most binding posts are brass, copper rarely.
But contrarily, I have recently been given some very cheap looking and overly shiny gold spades, which when filed turned out to be solid copper! So I will happily use those.
Actually, I have a Benchmark AHB2, one of the very lowest distortion power amps available. It has both Speakon and banana posts on the back. Benchmark recommends to use the Speakon connectors because they are lower distortion.
