Hello fellow audio geeks!
I'm Stefan, born and raised in the south end of Sweden. Avid DIY'er and electronics, computer engineering and audio geek 🤓😄
I found my passion for audio engineering already in my early teens, and was quickly absorbed into the PA/party/nightclub industry where I basically was running my own small-scale company, renting out audio and light effect equipment to small local events and served as DJ occasionally. I even designed and build a few sets of PA-class speakers with very good results during my teens.
Fast forward some 25 years, I just turned 40 and recently re-discovered my passion for loudspeaker design. However, this time with a PhD in electric power engineering and 15+ years of professional work experience in electronics, mechatronics and automotive engineering in my backpack, my angle of interest and capabilities in DIY design is quite different comparing to in my teens! My daily work nowadays involves advanced electro-magnetic modeling of rotating electrical machines, which has a lot in common with loudspeaker drivers, which would be classed as "linear electric machines" in similar technical terms.
My primary interest within diyAudio would be subwoofer design, quirky enclosure designs, electro-acoustic modeling, power amplifiers and digital/mixed-signal design.
I have got a LOT of inspiration and knowledge from being a passive member/spectator from this fine forum, thank you everyone posting interesting builds and providing insightful comments!
I hope you will find some of upcoming project posts interesting.
Best regards,
- Stefan
