Searching for a DAC with SPDIF Input to USB

It's a dirty hack, but it's a good one as far as dirty hacks go. I now own one of those dongles with an HDMI loop, so I can just insert it between the PC and monitor. Pretty trouble free.
im just a bit worried about the hdmi connection, graphiccards can be (mostly ARE) very noisy, so im not sure if its a good idea to hook up my graphiccard to my raspberry pi with such a adapter

Even with the "better" codecs, bluetooth is still lossy compression at 44.1/48kHz. Personally, I have yet to implement a bluetooth audio link that I don't hate after some careful listening. Yes, there is hope with Opus on Pipewire (Linux), but with the quality of the non-bluetooth solutions, I wouldn't bother.
oh you are right... i looked it up and the only good codec would be aptx lossless and im kinda unsure if moode supports it or would just the two usb dongles need to support it?

i also found this one https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/digi...terface-sa9023-24bit-96khz-silver-p-5850.html

im still quite unsure what todo im looking for high quality connection without spending a few hundreds
i guess rapsberry pi as usb device or scream would be the best options on the cheap

Im not sure if i will use the USB otg port for my dac, i wanna try if it sounds better then going over a usb hub (which is integrated in the raspbeery pi4)
so directly connecting the pi is probably not possible in my setup

but i was wondering if i could setup a pi zero as device, hook it up over usb to my pc and connect the zero via ethernet to my main pi directly (or going through a switch), this would need combining the raspberry pi as device and scream (audio over ethernet) route
maybe there is also another way for connected the pi`s directly? tho im not sure, the only other option i see is i2s which will be occupied by my future spdif hat

but right now im thinking either raspberry pi as device or scream (audio over ethernet) is probably the best route (and probably the cheapest while still sounding the best)

i will probably test the different routes somewhat soon since im building a new streamer the coming months

You're overthinking this IMHO. Get scream running between the PC and the streamer and you'll be done with this.
