Okay, hypothetically.....
lets say that I was so desperate to hear my new speakers, that I didn't dampen the main chamber, and now that I have calmed down a little bit, I took the time to go through and dampen in properly, what qualitative improvements should be apparent? I ask this because I want to know if the increase in quality is more than placebo.

Stuffing makes the box appear bigger to the speaker. In a sealed box it should move F3 and F6 down a Hz or two. You should damp the walls of the upper chamber to help reduce the potential for reflections. Also, it would not hurt to put a little felt on the back of the magnets.
