For sale a oair if SE trans with 2,5 Kohm primary and 8 and 16 ohm secondary pkus 2 chokes 2H and 150mA.the transformers were taken from some old Copland amplifier. Iv used this for about 2 years now in my 2a3 amps. Working perfectly. This are abot 10x10x8cm big and weight about 3kg each. Plese look at pictures. If you got those Chinese output transformers out of a Copland. Copland sure did not install them in there.
Hi, I have buy these years ago from my good friend. He say to me this was in copland old tube amp. I dont think this is from china,in days way back around 1992,I dont believe it was posibile to buy china amps by us in Slovenia.
I just speak with my friend. Yes you correct. The transformators where in the copland amp he have back in this days but this were made by company Shebart audio from Slovenia. He says this were better sounding than the original coplands transformers. And it was copland cta401 but with modification by Shebart audio. And like I say used this for goid 2 years till now without any problems, and the sound is verry good. But now Im building 300b with Tamura. So for testing purpose or for building some low value tube amp with 300b,2a3 tubes this trans are mire than verry good.
Oh I'm sure they'll sound good. It's hard to not make a bad sounding single ended amp. Good luck with the sale. All in all with the chokes it is a bargain.
The modification is more of a complete refit inside a Copland case. Since the cta401 is a PushPull amp. With a 2.5k SE output tranformer they must have paralleled the EL34'S.
