Reffering to the updated Scythe Amp test on TNT Audio [Review] Scythe Kama Bay amp SDA-1100 - Class D integrated amplifier - [English] some changes made the small Yamaha Chip based amp more interresting.

What are your experiences with this amp - if you have one?

and which Tripath would be a better choice.

I searched the web, but there are too many - differrent T-Chips - different companies, prices from 20€ + delivery for a SMSL, Muse , Hlly, Topping, Lihad, Sure,... up to 16߀ for the Trends or Hlly 90.

Thanks for advice

I had a Scythe SDA-1000 for a couple of years at my work desk. I finally fed up with it not powering on. The power switch needs to be pressed a few times before it would turn on. I replace it with a Topping TP30. The TP30 mops the floor with the SDA-1000. Way better constructed, better hardware and components. Sound of the TP30 is also superior than the SDA-1000 by a good margin.
Looking at the pictures in the review link, looks like the SDA-1100 carry over the cheap parts and construction from the previous model.
I would pick similar price ebay TA2024 or T2020 amp over the Scythe stuff any day. 😛
