I know these are not so great speakers but the woofer and mid still works fine. The tweeters are toast but unable to remove the screws holding them in, I guess the particle board has swelled and they are tight to say the least. Other than drilling them out any other tips to get those out? I may have some tweeter to put back..thanks
Drill them out with a left handed drill bit. I keep a few around just for removing frozen small screws and bolts. I paint them yellow to avoid confusing them with normal bits.
Lay speaker on its back so you can push down on the screws with your driver.
Sometimes if a screw won't come out, I turn the driver to tighten just a bit. That can break the threads loose, and then you can back it out. Just a degree or two of turn.

I saw a bloke on the TV the other day restoring an old piece of furniture. He applied heat to the heads of old screws with a soldering iron to break the seal before attempting to unscrew.
The screws may have been brass if that makes a difference.
At work usually a few hard taps with a hammer on a hammer through screwdriver is enough to shock them free.
Cheers,
Rob.
