Scanspeak 10F/8424g 4"Mids Alternatives??

Hi 🙂 , Im restoring a pair of THIEL CS2 speakers and sadly the VIFA stock ones are Blown. In my research trying to find the replacement for the stock model I got the Scanspeak 10F 8424g as the ideal replacement BUT they are too expensive. My other options are the 8 OHM FaitalPro 4FE32 and 4FE35 for less than half of the SS price.

Would they work for as replacement for my Thiel's ??? Is there a better option??

Try 10F/8414 is $72 and closer than 3FE22 which is 91dB and a totally different driver for the crossover already designed.

The SS 10F’s are special. You really can’t replace them and get the same sound. Very flat response, very smooth and low distortion.

Close might be 8ohm TG9FD. But can’t find those anymore. Next in line would be a TC9FD and reduce the attenuation resistor in the XO to compensate for the -2dB lower sensitivity.

The Visaton B80 is a little cheaper than the 10F as well.

But it won’t be a drop in fit like the Vifa line. It requires a larger cutout.

True, but looking at the photo, it seems Thiel has done some surgery to the 10F bezel too.

Thiel haven't used the 10F to start with.

Yeah they never used the 10F but since the original VIFA is no longer available it seems that the 10F 8424g was labeled as the ideal replacement by Madisound. Even tho the original VIFA was 88 db and the 8424G is 86.5 db.
