Scan Speak 13M/8640-00

A buddy sent me a defective unit so I decided to try and fix it.
In case you are curious how it looks inside.

SD motor. Perforated/ventilated former. Vented pole. It might benefit from a wad of felt on top of the pole though to reduce reflections back from the dust cap.

Were you able to fix it? What was the problem? open? was it corrosion at the voice coil to flex wire joint?

I am looking for one or two scanspeak 13M/8640 drivers as I had one go bad in my Duntech speakers I want an original one as my other 3 are fine. thank you

I was able to find one used finally.

I am going to give it a shot to fix the bad one using the link you provided.

Then I will have a spare. thank you
