Is there supposed to be damping felt/foam on the pole piece behind the dome in this tweeter? The ones I have don’t have any but I have read elsewhere and seen pictures of ones that do.
I did a quick google search and couldn't find any images showing the interiors of the SB26adc. I am in no hurry to separate the face plate on my pair and have a quick check.
As the 26adc has a rear plastic chamber, I am not 100% clear why they would need something directly under the dome in the design. Maybe SBAcoustics placed some damping material in the chamber, not under the dome itself?
Have you seen an image that somebody has made of a modification perhaps.
Can you post links to the image or thread ?

Yes there is a bit of felt behind the polepiece - I bought 10 of mine in one of the early batches for a HT project for a friend.
I had to take one apart to push out the dome that had been depressed by the woodworker. Thankfully I had exactly one extra.
That said, SB have changed spec without any community updates for almost all their drivers from time to time.

And this image from PETT of a 26adc

The fact that you have highlighted a difference is slightly worrying.
However the magic statement along the lines of we reserve the right to change the specification due to continuous development or suchlike, means unless somebody at SBA or associated with them can tell us the reason why they are different we will probably not get to the bottom of this.
