Ok So I got this panel, and it has a mac connection, No prob use a VGA to mac adapter with the dip switches, Only problem is when I set My computer monitor to 640 by 480 and then attempt to have it go to the panel, It cantfind the source, So I dont know if this old switch is just crappy or is there something I need to change in My pc? refresh rate? any further help from you all would be appreciated, Thanks
Hey, Its ME Adam 101, I cant sign under my old name for some reason,( it keeps giving me a error message, who knows) anyways No I havent even attempted to mess around with this recently, I bought it for 5 bucks though and its not in the best of shape, I may just rip it apart to look around, though I will bbe getting a different mac adapter for it, sometime. Oter then that I cant be of much use, this was gonna just be a bedroom/den project since I have a projector allready in mY HT in the basement. talk to u L8er
OK, I was just wondering because I won this same screen in a bid on Ebay. I actually ordered a Mac -> VGA adapter with no DIP switches. The reason I did that was that everything I read in those descriptions said "Allows your MAC to work with a VGA monitor", but what I was trying to do was get my PC to work with a MAC monitor in essence. I found an adapter on Ebay that was just a simple adapter with no DIP switches that said "Allows your PC to use a MAC monitor" in the description. It should get here before the end of the week. I was talking to someone in the Anandtech Video forum and they said that I would want to try to run my PC display adapter at 640x480 with a 66 Hz Refresh Rate. Since that's not a standard PC refresh rate I am going to use Powerstrip to set a custom refresh rate.
What does the AC Adapter look like for your unit? The one I got with mine looks almost homemade. It's beige, and the power brick has two screw terminals that the wire runs from, and the connector at the end doesn't fit snugly in the AC adapter plug on the projection screen. I imagine if I get this thing working I'll eventually be replacing this AC Adapter with another unit.
Thanks, and good luck

Hey, Hummm yea My power adapter is Like 24 volts( wierd number I think) and same here Mine is black though, It dosent fit all that snug in the panel, mabe a defect from the get go. Cool I may order one of those adpter things too, Mine was made back in the DAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY so I think its just old. If I figure out anything else I will post
Man I cant Post recently I type something and click post and then It just goes back to the main screen This is annoying, Yea My powersupply is different looking also, Its like 24 volt I believe and It dosent connect into the panel all that well, Hummmm dunno mabe thats just a manufacturing flaw. Other then that I think I may do as you and Buy a new adapter and see how that goes. If I figure out anything more I will post what I find
hey Bagger, any luck yet, Im gonna order one of those adapters online, I cant find them anyplace in the Stores around here, whats your Ps Outputs? just wondering Mine is 24 volt and 3 amp, dunno if thats any different from yours but just wanted to see whats up.
I'm still waiting on getting a DB15 MAC video cable. The adapter I bought just converts the VGA out from the back of a PC to a DB15/Mac video output, so I gotta buy a DB15 cable (not HD-DB15 which is normal VGA, has 2 rows of pins, 8 on top, 7 on bottom). I'm glad your's has amps listed because mine's not too clear on that. Here's the info on my power brick:
Amseco UL Listed No. 21K3
Model: XP-2420
Input: 120V AC 60Hz 26W
Output: 24V AC 20VA
Plug-in Transformer
Class 2 not wet, class 3 wet

Well after ignoring this panel for a while I got the urge to try to get it working again. The vga->mac adapter I had requires a straight mac DB15 cable so I was gonna purchase that, when I came upon a VGA->mac video cable at a store just down the road from me for $5. I was psyched! Till I got home and it didn't work. I'm about ready to buy a vga/mac adapter with dip switches, a straight DB15 cable, and a straight VGA cable and see if I can figure anything out with that combination.
Just on a side note, do you know the exact specifications of this panel? How many colors it is, etc?
