Take 2 drivers from a cheap PC set. Make an open baffle system out of it. Driven by a class A mosfet amp they still sound like crap, even an equalizer can't fix. Only stereo imaging suprises compared to a 2 way.
The red box is the Vifa Korekt (not XT). The blue one a homebrew with Visaton tweeter and Swan speaker mid-bass. On top of it a class A mosfet monoblock (red).
