SAP15 parallel operation

Hi Dudes.

I need your help for a new project. I just salvage lot of SAP15 darlingtons from old Sony HC systems.

Plan to made more powerful amplifier using these transistors in // (hope to reach 300W @ 4 ohms @ +/-60Vdc using 2 transistors in //).

Do somebody here has already try to do it?

Can it be possible using integrated compensation diodes? And how to connect them?

Thanks for your help.

If they are in good condition, sell them because people still want to fix their amplifiers using genuine, original parts. Unfortunately, it is likely an unwise decision, considering how fragile the SAP series Darlington transisistors are but that's the how many uninformed owners and repairers think!

I Agree with Craig. The original SAP15 and SAP16N,P types were replaced by STD03N,P types which appear to be just as good sounding but robust too. They do require an external emitter resistor which replaces those fragile internal ones that so easily failed. Use these STD03 types if you must use Darlington audio power transistors. https://www.semicon.sanken-ele.co.jp/sk_content/std03p_ds_en.pdf
