I have this turntable when I pick the arm to play it there is a very

Every Sanyo I had was bad for that.
If you hear the hum before putting the stylus on the record, it's magnetic pickup. Try redressing the wires.
Sony direct drives were way better designed and can be had for less than $80 🙂
