Looking for a couple dozen 2sa1381e.

I ended up buying 200qty 2SC3503E and some KSA1381ESTU only to realize they actually don't match well.

If anyone has 2sa1381e they are willing to sell I'd be interested in buying some so I can do some matching with the 2sc3503e that I currently have.

Better than $6.50 though, but still a lot. They sold for $0.30 at Rochester just a few years back, which is what I paid before shipping and tax for the 2sc3503e.

Can anyone provide relatively firm knowledge on adequate replacements for 2sa1381e/2sc3503e replacements? I've found a post indicating TTA004/TTC004 parts may be a good replacement.

I suppose the other option is to seek out KSC1381ESTU parts to match the KSA1381ESTU that are still available on Mouser (also very difficult to find). Some folks have indicated that KSC1381DSTU will still match fine even though the hfe is a mismatch with the ESTU grade.

I just wanted to share how I got into this kenundrum in the first place buying KSA/2SC parts with the intent of matching them.

Thank you to all who have provided their input!!! I have lots to learn and want to be sure I share what I learn from you all.

If you're talking about ones still in production, it seems like there aren’t any. cmiiw

Here are some good alternatives (if you can find them, since they’re all obsolete)

• 2SA1407 - 2SC3601
• 2SA1540 - 2SC3955
• 2SA1480 - 2SC3790
• 2SA1478 - 2SC3788
• 2SA1209/1210 - 2SC2911/2912
• BF469/471 - BF470/472

TTA004/TTC004 parts may be a good replacement.

TTA/TTC004 are less ideal as VAS due to their higher Cob..IMO

Maybe others can chime in with more suggestions.

KSA1142/KSC2682 might work for you. cob around 4.5pf. 180vce Digikey/ mouser had them a couple of months ago

You can also use 2SA1145/2SC2705 in cascode mode. They have Cob of 1,8 and 2,5pF. Lovely specimen they are.

Roar, is there any reason to not just use the 2SA1360/2SC3423 instead? as their specs look exactly the same.
Wouldn't it be better to use TO-126 over TO-92L for VAS?
(Higher power dissipation and easier mounting).

Or, do you think they're different?
