Anybody know where I can get the following:
2SC4467 and 2SA1694? (complimentary)
bdent seems to have some but they don't seem to be matching Hfe (at least in the photo)
Mary Anns electronics on EBay seems to have them, but I don't know if that is a trustworthy seller and not just selling Chinese knock-offs
Can't seem to find matching pairs in stock anywhere.
They would be used in an old Pioneer Amp.
Th originals were SA1104s and SC2579s but those are marked as obsolete
Also, does STMicroelectronics make good parts?
Thanks!

ST Microelectronics are known for above average quality.
You can use equivalent to slightly higher transistors from the European and American series.
However, some finicky listeners can seem to identify the Sankyo units by their unique sound, in that case buy another unit with a different fault, and use the parts from there.
The Sankyo business went to Sanyo, which then was taken over by On Semi, IIRC.
Toshiba, Panasonic, maybe other Japanese brands may be available, search for a slightly higher rated unit in the same case.

I would just use modern equivalents.
Transistors shouldn't have a sound of their own especially if used with negative feedback.

Digikey carries the A1694 and the C4467 at about €2 each, stock seems to be zero but estimated shipping date is today ?!?
Profusion has the A1294 which is a lot better.
I might be able to pull some A1694/C4467 from a working amp, but I suppose that makes sense only if you are based in Europe.

I'm in the USA - Maryland to be a little more precise. I don't have much experience with electronic repair - but certainly willing to learn. I suppose that the power transistors that I am looking for are obsolete. So, I guess I should just be looking for modern equivalents. Question is, how much wiggle room is there the specs for replacements. Some of these search sites do not make it easy to find transistors with matching specs especially hFE.
Agreed, no sense pulling out of a working amp..

Well, the A1105 is a 120 V, 8 A, 80 W, 20 MHz thing, pretty average as power transistors go. I haven't been able to locate the data sheet of the original manufacturer, so I don't know about its capacitance, but I suspect this is not one of the special low capacitance designs.
One vendor gave these as equivalents:
2SA1105, 2SA1106, 2SA1186, 2SA1303, 2SA1386, 2SA1386A, 2SA1386A-O, 2SA1386A-P, 2SA1386A-Y, 2SA1490, 2SA1491, 2SA1492, 2SA1694, 2SA1695, 2SA2151, 2SA2151A, 2SA2151A-O, 2SA2151A-P, 2SA2151A-Y, FJA4210, MJW1302A or MJW1302AG.
The Sanken 1490 - 1492 are similar parts, also 20 MHz ft, pretty robust and used in a lot of amps from the 90s and 00s, even car amps which can be purchased cheaply. Have a look at the pics here:

I wouldn't worry about the hfe matching too much.
