OK so I was looking around at projectors and I found a Toshiba that has a 120 watt UHP bulb and claims to be 1100 lumens, while my proxima with that same bulb claims to be 750 lumens. Whats the deal? are they just quoting wrong or am I missing something?

A device does not have to run its bulb at the full rated power. If you run the bulb harder, it puts out more light, but needs a bigger (and more expensive) power supply. The wattage is just the bulb's power rating, a multiple of the drive voltage and current. Watts = Volts x Amps.
