I have a yamaha sv115 with a blown capacitor on the crossover. Its a 15uf 100v np capacitor. I've got some 8.2uf 100v np capacitors on hand from another project. I dont have any experience with crossovers, but wondering is it safe to try the 8.2uf value in the crossover? I understand it will change the crossover frequency, but is there any danger of causing damage to the speakers?
I am asking because I need to use the speaker in a few days and dont have time to order the identical value capacitor. Is it okay to try this out?
