I am in the process of assembling my F5 Turbo monoblocks and would like to use panel-mount, anti-vandal switches with illuminated LEDs if possible.
But given the case I chose, I have some limitations on my options.
Various versions of these switches available on Mouser are rated at 3a or 5a, but there are also some 15a options, which will be more difficult for me to use because I will have to drill out the back of the case.
For 800VA transformer with 41Volt rails and 120V power line, what is the minimum amp rating that I can use?
I am using the standard DIY Audio universal power supply and schematic.

Straight from the manufacturer
Yueiqng Langir Electric Co.,Ltd.
I’d probably have the switch trip a big relay to start the amp but that’s just me.

This may be an option.
PCB: low voltage On-Off switch drives AC mains relay \ includes soft start .. H9KPXG

I agree with evanc -- I used 25mm diameter anti-vandal switches purchased from Langir for my F5 Turbo monoblock build and have found them to be well-designed and very reliable over the past 7 years (as a matter of fact, I've hosted 3 diyAudio group buys for those switches, all of which were sold long ago). I also agree with ItsAllInMyHead -- the switch (whichever brand and model you buy) will very likely last far longer if you use a smart soft start board like the H9KPXG (again, also sold through a group buy and all are gone).
Good luck with your project. You're going to love your Turbos.

Scott

Thanks for all of the great responses, but can anyone confirm whether a pushbutton switch rated at 110V/10A will be sufficient?
eliasb1979:
Yes, a 220V-5A / 110V-10A switch will be fine. But if you use the H9KPXG board, which only sends 5V through the main power switch, you can get away with a far less substantial anti-vandal switch. The point is, you have options worth considering.
