Ok...

i've a philips CD104 that use the SAA7010...but it have an old i2s..left and right channel..

I would like to use it with with my dac with the ACTUAL I2S system..do you know if is possible to do soemthing liek this..convert the the I2s from SAA7010 to the one from SAA7210 for example?

Thanks for you help.

Maurizio.

but it have an old i2s

There is no such thing as 'old I2S'. I2S is a strictly defined digital audio format, anything slightly different is not I2S.

The older players based on the SAA70x0 chipset don't use I2S, nor anything resembling I2S. Personally, I have been working on a device to replace a SAA7030 and convert the output of the SAA7000 into I2S, but it's not finished yet (see attached picture).

The easiest thing for you to do is get a newer player that does have a SAA7210, and hence does use I2S.

Very nice..

Sorry..i usen't the right definitions about..i know that tda1541 accept signals from 7010 also..changing operrating modes..right?

Did you tested your converter? When do you think will be available?

Thanks again.

Maurizio.

Yes. The TDA1540, TDA1541 and TDA1541A are the only ICs that I know of that are compatible with the SAA70x0 chipset.

No, and I don't know yet. I have a few projects on the go right now, and most of them are more interesting that that one ....

My advice is to get a player that uses a SAA7210 or SAA7310, there is a lot of them out there.

I succesfully connected a TDA1541A to an SAA7000 (replacing 2 x TDA1540P) Also removed SAA7030 to get Non-OS mode. There is no I2S capability in SAA70xx chips, but the TDA1541A is able to work in simultaneous mode, the output mode of the SAA7000/7030 chips.

The SAA7010 is the demodulator, it must be followed by the SAA7020 error corrector, then the SAA7000 interpolating and muting circuit, and optionally the SAA7030 digital filter that provides 4x OS.
