Has anyone on this forum used one of these in a project yet? It looks like they only have had the current versions available since September, but if anyone has used them then do you have any feedback?
Has it got any inbuilt EQ which you may or maynot want? Sometimes people report of cheap plate amps having +6db @ 35hz which isnt always what people desire, increasing distortion and decreasing SPL at times.
Crossover filters are a point too-
What type and rolloff rate? 2nd order or higher hopefully, and adjustable

Cap & Transformer 4 of 6800uF/100V; 600VA
Adjustable Filter 14Hz, 20Hz, 28Hz
Adjustable Damping Q=0.6 (Bessel), Q=1.07 (1.5dB boost), Q=1.33 (3dB boost)
Filter Bypass possible
Switchable voltage 115/230V, 50-60Hz
Phase Continuous phase adjustment (0-180)

Hi mike.e,
no, but I suspect that the amp you are talking about is listed on Rythmik's site as their 'competitor'. This one has adjustable low-pass filter, adn about 9 different settings for what they call an 'extension filter' (if memory serves). Also, the SE version has upgraded op-amps (to reasonable) and some other bits.
Simon5, I'm not planning to purchase until the payday after Christmas, so if you have a chance to do a test before mid-January... I would appreciate any results (subjective is fine) that you can give. It's always a bit of a risk purchasing from overseas, as you are never quite sure what you are going to get. Brian does seem to have put a little thought into both his amps amd his subwoofer plans.
I know there's a couple of testimonials on the website... I was hoping someone from there was also a forum member...

It's been awhile since your last post. How is the testing coming?
Sorry guys, forgot about this thread, the amplifier is great so far.
My subwoofer is not completely finished but I did some testing and it sounds great. I hear absolutely no distortion in the low bass when paired with the Shiva.
It does really output at least 250W RMS because it can bring the Shiva easily in overexcursion (it's in a huge 142,5 liters box ported to 18,4 Hz) if I'm not watching closely. I did manage to hit the protection circuitry a few times with some help from Rammstein with the Shiva on the limit of linear excursion... so I can tell that the amplifier is well protected for stupid people like me who overdrive amplifiers.
The Level knob can probably adjust to any system because if I go higher than one third, the Shiva can't take it.
I did not play much with the Phase knob yet.
The Crossover knob seems to work very well, as advertised, variable from 40-160 Hz.
I'm using Line-in from a vintage CD-player and Line-out to a ghetto blaster Mic imput for testing. That works well too.
I did not play with Hi level imput and outputs and I will not play with them.
You can easily tell that it's a serious amplifier, when I plug it in the wall, the lights dim a bit until both capacitors are charged (a quarter of a second maybe).
The only problem I had is with the installation, it's really a tight fit in a 9 1/8 x 9 1/8 inches hole.
The toroidal transformer look good and heavy, capacitors too, some wires are close to the diode bridge but it doesn't seem to be a problem. Big and heavy heatsink. I guess it takes about one liter of enclosure space or less.
The boards are very clean, only one wire is making a visible bridge on the back of one of the board.
Connectors on the subwoofer wires are standard 10-14 gauge connectors that didn't fit with the Shiva smallish standard 18-22 gauge connectors. I guess the failure on this part is from Adire Audio. Who want to use 18 gauge with a subwoofer? I just modified the Adire Audio connectors to take the 10-14 connectors with some soldering.
Tell me if you want to know more, I probably forgot something.

Cloth Ears: In looking at the rythmic site under highlights of the subwoofer include; #10 proudly made in the US. I had assumed this included the amp, but on second look it may only refer to the 12" driver. Do you know that the amp is an import item?
Since my last post I found a site with an article about the building of a rythmic subwoofer. It is at secrets of home theater and high fidelity. The site address is http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_11_2/diy-14-rythmik-directservo-subwoofer-4-2004.html
