Hi Everyone

I recently used some Rubycon ZL capacitors in the Aksa Nirvana Plus upgrade kit and have been very impressed by them.

I now want to source some more but have not been able to find a supplier in the higher values. Well, I did find one supplier, but this required a minumum order of 1000 units!

Can anyone tell me where to source these caps. I did do a search but didn't come across anything other than people asking the same question!

TIA

Hi,

I have some new caps, Rubycon ZL, 220uF/35 or 50V I guess. Are you interested?

Rubycon's best kept secret....

Take a look at Rubycon's YXG series.

Its a rung down from the ZA/ZL (which someone from Rubycon's technical arm told me was developed in response to the growing prevalance of capacitors using an organic semicondutor as an electrolyte) but is available in higher values. I replaced the ZA/ZLs in a FET pre-amp of mine (on power supply decoupling duty) to YXGs and far preferred the sound.

And how do YXGs sound? Boring - but in the very best sense! Audibly low HF distortion (no 'hi-fi treble' here) and VERY balanced and even throughout the rest of the range.

To my ears, the ZA/ZL sounded forward and splashy in comparison.
