Anybody knows the stop gap solution (or longer than that ) to stop old CD drawer belt infrequent slippage . The belt is rectangular in shape. I try to avoid laborious diss assembly of mechanism and pulling all those tethered plastic wheels as long as possible. I cleaned the belt and plastic pulley with alcohol but it didn't help much. Maybe some other treatment to help the belt to grip more .

Sounds like its to far gone tbh
With any square belt its worth rotating it "inside out" so the unused surfaces contact the pulleys.
Simple answer... fit a new one 😀
