Some days ago I bought a Rotel RCD-970 in perfect conditions for 12 pounds from a charity shop.
I would like to upgrade it by designing a new DAC stage, using DIR 9001 for reclocking, TDA1541 (oversampling) converter + OPA827 I/V and battery PSU.
I think grabbing the signal before the actual DAC would be better sounding than taking the digital signal from the COAX connector in terms of jitter, but the 2nd option would be less invasive. Any suggestion about it?
