I have a Rotel RCD955AX that I want to implement a new Clock in a more effective way versus the standard removal of the Crystal/470pF/Resistor & then tie into SAA7220 Filter Pin 11.
I have already bypassed the SAA7220 for NOS operation. I have an external clock that has XOut & X/2 & X/4 outputs. So can I feed XOut directly to the SAA7210 Decoder (from the new Clock) & feed X/2 to TDA1541A after I separate Pin 2 & 4 . Since I have +5V on Pin 27 (of TDA1541A) then this indicates that Pin 4 in non-functional (according to TDA1541A spec heet)
Of course I will isolate the 2 pins (of SAA7220) that formerly supplied an oscillator signal to SAA7210 Decoder & TDA1541A DAC.
Basically does the SAA7220 Filter actually need a CLOCK Signal to function in NOS mode. I disabled the Digital Output as well by removing a jumper between SAA7220 and the Logic IC (N74XXX)/output Xformer as well.
Does this setup will work the way I want to implement?
Let me know.
Thanks,
