Does anyone out there still have a Rotel RCD-855 CD player ? I have one since about 1992 and it still works fine. It uses a TDA1541 DAC and sounded dated. I took the output of the DAC to a passive pi LC filter and a valve SRPP amp using a 6SL7 tube.
It sounds great . Much better than the Marantz 67SE ( when it was alive!). Has anyone experimented with the Rotel ?
