Thanks Chris for your reply, I am a trained engineer of 28 years. My background is with Roland synths who I've been with for 28 years. Plenty of experience with DACs, static precautions and soldering. No one is perfect, I will recheck the soldering. When looking at other mods, it looks like the three tracks to the 7220 chip were not cut, just to the 1541 chip, is this the case? I must admit, I am relatively new to CDPs, and my experience just extends to focus and laser current adjustments with replacing lasers and the odd belts in the trays etc. I once modified a CD6000OSE with blue tack, car noise dampening panels and removing the HDAM. These Rotels are way better in stock form ( I love Nad too). I'm sure I can resolve this in time, I was just wondering if I've been stupid, and missed something - To what should have been a very straight forward mod.
Hi phildela,
Since you are familiar with the DAC circuits, why on earth would you even consider this "modification"? It's flawed right from the most basic level! What measures are you taking to kill the 44.1 KHz RF carrier being channeled into your equipment. Remember that 44.1 KHz is low enough to be reproduced by most sound equipment.
Anyway, look at the work you did as if someone else did it. Take your time.
