Dear forum members - this is my first post but I've been a long time lurker here 🙂 - nevertheless I hope I can get some help from you.
My Rotel RB980 amp comes with nice 10.000 µf /63V slit foil caps in the psu. The caps are snap-in-type with 4pins. Since they are something like 15 years old, I would really like to replace or better upgrade them. I am having a rough time finding something of at least equal quality that would fit 35mm diameter and max. 8cm height. I found some BHC slit foils but they had only 2 pins and were smaller in height. Maybe someone could point me towards something that might fit in that box?

Hi,
Don't get confused with the 4 pin types as the extra pins are for grounding the alluminium container. You can use the 2 pin type provided the
size match then there will be alot more choices. The grounding of external
can is not critical. If the holes don't match just drill holes and modify.
Regards.
Edit: Quality wise I think all electrolytics are the same sonically and the japanese/asian
ones are cheaper.Of course if you prefer european ones.Douglas Self did some research and found
that higher voltage version of caps have better distortion characteristics. So if 10K uf 63V vs
10K 80V but for very big caps it's harder to substitute due to pcb space limitation.
