I am looking for a couple of 24-position rotary switches to build up attenuators for my DIY RTP3, replacing Sfernice P11 pots. I have collected a complete set of resistors, and just now need to get the switches.
Allen Wright recommended ELMA switches, but these are very expensive (for instance, HiFi Collective charge £108 for a 4-pole switch).
First of all, is there a less pricey (preferably European) source for ELMA parts?
Secondly, how much would I lose out in terms of longevity and quality if I settled for cheaper switches?
Thanks!
Alex
