I purchased one from Jaycar but can't bring myself to use it it's a piece of crap, I usually glaze over when I go on the RS components web site, too much to choose from & often not enough info. I will have a look though, thanks.
Oh Jeez. i spent, literaly 4 hours trying to order parts for a pre-amp. I forgot the resistors, i will get them from WES. The RS stock is huge but its a nightmare to order. I guess it gets easier as you go along. If they could seperate UK and IN stock, that. would help. Pity u were'nt closer

There not exactly cheap either.
Hey DQ828, others around the site have suggested using the switches from 4 port printer switches. I would bet you could find a used one at a second hand store it good shape.

I bought one these from Broskie (the Aikido guy).
Stereo selector switch
If you don't need more than 3 inputs, this might do? It switches both the + and ground lines, so if you wish to keep the grounds separate, this work great.

There's a seller on Ebay that has a pile of NOS Russian military rotary switches for really cheap prices. They are ceramic with silver double contacts, but they are pretty large. Superb quality and very rugged. I bought a box full.
Best, Bill

My bid: The standard Lorlin 2x6, 4x3 or 3x4 rotary switch.
I know that the 'true audiophile' could never get himself to use anything that doesn't include silver, gold, argon or kryptonite, and that doesn't look sturdy enough to survive minimum one nuclear winter.
...but my first preamp ( buildt 17 years ago, and used on and off in some 12-14 years) has one of these for input selection, and it is the only control that still works! The four toggleswitches for power, phase, mute and record monitor all have the internal part stuck in one position, and the volume pot is getting more and more worn and out-of-range in the lower part.
The only thing that has never failed, and still is working is the cheap plastic-body Lorlin rotary switch - how about that.

Look up the seller Orpheus_2005, he has a bunch of different switches. My memory is faulty, it did not say Military in the listing.
I bought the 8 pole 5 pos ones and just took off the sections I didn't need. You can also lower the rotating torque needed by bending back the outer spring. I bought them around 4yrs ago, shipping has gone up quite a bit. I bet they would cost $100 a pc these days.
